Therapy for life’s deeper transitions
Some stages of life invite us to look more deeply at who we are, how we are living, and what may need to change.
You may have already explored personal development, meditation, therapy or spiritual practices. Or perhaps you are only beginning to ask deeper questions about yourself and your life.
Wherever you are, you may find yourself caught in familiar emotional or relationship patterns, feeling disconnected from yourself, or sensing that something important is missing. You know there is more to life than simply coping, but may not yet know how to create the change you are looking for.
You might recognise yourself in some of these experiences:
-
- You have made progress in some areas of your life, yet certain difficulties or patterns continue to return.
- You want to move beyond simply understanding these hurdles and explore what may be underneath them.
- You find yourself repeating familiar patterns in relationships, even when you want things to be different.
- You are becoming aware that earlier life experiences may still be influencing how you relate to yourself and others.
- Your career no longer feels aligned with who you are, or you sense that something is missing or out of balance.
- You want a therapist who welcomes conversations about meaning, spirituality and personal growth while remaining grounded in professional psychotherapy.
- You have experienced meaningful change through mindfulness, spiritual practice or other healing approaches and want support integrating those experiences into everyday life.
My approach
My primary approach is contemporary Gestalt therapy, a holistic and relational form of counselling that pays attention to your thoughts, emotions, relationships and bodily experience. Gestalt is influenced by existential, Eastern and psychodynamic traditions and explores how past experiences and present patterns shape the way you live and relate today.
You do not need any prior knowledge or experience of Gestalt. We will begin with what is happening in your life now, exploring your difficulties, and see if this form of therapy can support the change you are seeking.
Alongside my psychotherapy training, I bring more than 10 years of experience in qigong, meditation, mindfulness, contemplative practice and holistic healing. My background also includes Reiki and Buddhist practice. These experiences inform my understanding of the relationship between mind, body, meaning and emotional wellbeing, while counselling sessions remain grounded in your individual needs and therapeutic goals. You do not need to hold any particular spiritual beliefs or take part in these practices to work with me.
Meaningful change rarely happens overnight. Therapy often takes time, curiosity and a willingness to practise new ways of relating to yourself and others. I do not offer quick fixes, but neither will I ask you to move faster or go deeper than feels supportive. We can regularly review our work together, with the pace and duration guided by your needs, goals and circumstances.
Our work may help you develop greater clarity, emotional freedom and authenticity. As you understand your patterns more deeply, you can become less driven by automatic reactions and more able to respond with intention, presence and self-compassion. The aim is not to turn you into someone different, but to help you feel more at home in who you are and more able to live in a way that reflects what matters to you.
